NIPCO takes steps to increase cooking gas consumption in Nigeria

NIPCO Plc has expressed its determination to join hands with the Federal government in promoting access to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as cooking gas to Nigerians at affordable rates.
Mr Sanjay Teotia, Managing Director, NIPCO, who gave the assurance while presenting LPG accessories to public school administrators’ under the Apapa local education authority and some head teachers in Lagos, said it is one of the conscious ways of encouraging the use of gas as domestic cooking fuel.
The presentation of the items which included gas cylinders and burners took place at the company’s premises in Apapa, and also forms part of NIPCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
He also hinted that more efforts would be made in the area of skids deployment to the company’s stations across the country to facilitate cooking gas access by the people in tandem with Federal Government’s drive to promote the use of gas as domestic cooking fuel.
He noted that with the technical commissioning of the largest Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant in NIPCO’s terminal Apapa, his company is set for more seamless operations in the storage and distribution of gas across the nooks and crannies of the country.
