Senior executives set to discuss energy transition at Energy Leader’s Dialogue

The Energy Intelligence (TEI) is organizing an exclusive webinar on the topic “Energy Transition in an Hydrocarbon dependent African economy” on August 18th, 2020, at 10:00 West African Time.

The first in its Energy Leader’s Dialogue series on Energy Transition and held in partnership with the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria, REAN, the high-level panel will be sharing their experiences on the challenges to sustainable growth of the LPG, Solar and Nuclear energy industries in sub-Saharan Africa and possible solutions.

Confirmed panelists are Hannah Kabir, Founder/CEO, Creeds Energy Ltd who will be speaking on Alleviating energy poverty through adopting greener, more efficient energy solutions; Dr Patrick Tolani, CEO, Community Energy Social Enterprise Ltd who will be making a presentation on the dynamics of the Nigerian solar industry; Dayo Adeshina, Program Manager, LPG Expansion Plan, Office of the Vice President who will be speaking on challenges to sustainable growth of the LPG sector in Nigeria; and Ryan Collyer, Acting CEO, Rosatom Central and Southern Africa who will be speaking on challenges of the nuclear sector viz power plant safety, protecting reactors from natural disasters and external aggression.

The sub-Saharan African region possesses abundant renewable energy and could therefore benefit from the economic efficiencies offered by a transition to green energy.

This webinar is concerned with modelling possible paths for Nigeria’s energy future and aims to identify synergies and trade-offs necessary for a successful transition to clean, renewable and affordable energy, and mitigate climate change for a sustainable development.
