Nevada utility NV Energy Inc on Tuesday issued a request for proposals (RfP), seeking bids for 350 MW or more of renewable energy projects.
The proposals could include solar, geothermal, wind, biomass and biogas technologies, and could integrate battery-energy storage systems. The projects should be built in the state of Nevada.
NV Energy president Doug Cannon said the move is in line with the company’s longer-term goal of serving customers with 100% renewable energy.
The RfP follows an announcement at the end of May that NV Energy has contracted for 1,001 MW of new solar energy and 100 MW of battery energy storage capacity.
The deadline for bids is December 10. Successful projects would need to be approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, the utility noted.
