Petrol price crashes by 15% in February

The average price paid by consumers for petrol in Nigeria decreased by 15.1 percent year-on-year and – 9.6 percent month-on-month to N172.5 in February 2018 from N190.9 in January 2018, Nigeria’s statistics office disclosed Tuesday.
Data released by the National Office of Statistics obtained by business a.m. show that states with the highest average price of petrol were Plateau (N206.82), Osun (N201.29) and Edo (N200.83). States with the lowest average price of petrol were Katsina (N145.00), Abuja (N145.00) and Kogi (N147.06).
Meanwhile, the average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil (diesel) decreased by 1.00 percent month-on-month and – 10.86 percent year-on-year to N204.35 in April 2018 from N206.41 in March 2018, while states with the highest average price of diesel were Taraba (N250.00) Adamawa (N227.50) and Sokoto (N224.00).
States with the lowest average price of diesel were Oyo (N191.28), Delta (N190.77) and Bayelsa (N188.33).
