…new plenary speakers added to LNG2019, the only event where China’s ‘big three’ oil majors will be on stage together in 2019

LNG2019, the flagship event for the world’s global LNG industry, will give delegates cutting-edge insight into the big issues that will dominate headlines in the years to come.
Event organisers have added three new Spotlight Sessions to highlight the key issues companies must address in a fast-changing world.
LNG2019, to be held 1-5 April 2019 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in China, will include recently added Spotlight Sessions that cover:

Managing methane emissions as part of a sustainable energy future
Gas is a key fuel in the low carbon future and it’s essential we conserve this strategic resource. As well as the significant environmental benefits, reducing methane emissions can also increase operational efficiency and safety. Delegates attending this session will learn more about:

  • successful emission monitoring and target setting, for both onshore and offshore facilities
  • practical implementation methods to reduce emissions across the value chain
  • access to case studies that highlight current best practice and success stories

Digitalisation and cybersecurity in the LNG supply chain
Digital disruption is reshaping our world, and that includes all aspects of the natural gas industry. This session will examine the opportunities of the ongoing digital revolution, the lessons that can be learned from other industries and how to identify and manage emerging risks across the supply chain.
Delegates attending this session will learn about:

  • the risks and opportunities presented by increased interconnectivity
  • the rise of predictive maintenance and operations
  • improving data security through emerging technologies such as blockchain

Building the industry’s workforce – diversity and future talent
As the pace of change accelerates and the challenges facing our world grow ever more acute, it is more important than ever that business engages the next generation. This session will discuss

  • The changing skill-set of the LNG industry, both for today and tomorrow
  • How to foster diversity – and why it matters
  • The practicalities of attracting and retaining talent

LNG2019, the only LNG event owned by the industry, run for the industry, attracts 11,000 professionals from all over the world.

The event, to be held in Shanghai 1-5 April, 2019, the first time the triennial event has been held in China, brings together the heads of the world’s leading energy companies, including ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, Total and Gazprom.

It is the only place you can hear from China’s ‘big three’ oil majors on stage together in 2019.
Ron Snedic, Chairman of the LNG2019 Steering Committee and SVP, Corporate Development at GTI,said: “Given that China, the world’s fastest growing LNG market, and a country destined to shape the 21st century, is hosting this conference for the first time, we intend to shine a spotlight on the big issues facing our industry andour planet.

These new Spotlight sessions, with their focus on sustainability, digitalisation and cybersecurity and the workforce of the future, will be a must-see for anyone interested in the future of this industry.”

The new Spotlight Sessionswere announced as the LNG2019 Programme team –led by Zhao Zhu, the NOC’s Plenary Programme Manager, and the CWC Group Ltd from London –confirmed further plenary speakers.
Hua Yang, Chairman of CNOOC, will join the heads of Chevron, ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum to discuss the global outlook for LNG.

This high-level panel will discuss LNG’s role in the global energy mix and map the future of LNG supply and demand.

Senator the Honourable Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the first Caribbean nation to sign up to China’s One Belt One Road(OBOR), will discuss opportunities in China’s LNG market, including infrastructure developments and the impact of Government policy.
He will be joined by Dinan Huang, Chairman of Shenergy Group, Alfred Chan of Hong Kong & China Gas Company and Dr Xiansheng Sun, Secretary General of International Energy Forum.

The full Conference Programme is now available on LNG2019’s website, featuring almost 40 Plenary Speakers, including the CEOs of the world’s major LNG players, plus over 160 speakers in the Technical, Commercial and LNG Forum Sessions.

In addition to the conference, the 40,000m2 exhibition will host more than 250 international exhibitors from 80 countries covering the entire spectrum of the LNG industry, including specialist pavilions such as the Marine Technology Pavilion.
